Royal Wedding Weekend – Apart from watching the Royal Wedding (obviously) I managed to get out for a few different types of rides. Saturday I managed to get out the lycra (well shorts and T-Shirt) and take the road bike out for a quick blast around the local country lanes near my house. I managed to sneak about 30 miles in and felt pretty good. With the sun beaming on Sunday Morning me and the Bro (eldest Danny) were heading off to Z Racing (well so we thought) with the moto bikes. On the way we thought we’d give them a call to make sure they were open, only to find out they were shut, so a quick divert and onto Essex MX we went instead. The guys at Essex MX have been doing quite a lot of work recently and now they are back to the 2 track format (Adults and Kids) with the talk of expanding the adults furthermore. The track was running awesome with some cool new jumps and some deep loose berms to get your roost on! Danny, my brother hasn’t got much luck with riding at Essex MX, as in the last year he has come away with a foot peg through the eye and a broken leg (and people say I crash a lot). So with the day going well I thought I would show a bit of brotherly rivalry and we started having our own race, which ended up with me accidently taking him out! We came into a corner and I got on the power a little earlier and cut down the inside and thought I’d made a clean pass, then felt a little nudge at my back wheel, looked round and he was in a tangled heap in the dirt. Luckily he came away unhurt and we called it a day. After we were cleaned up for the day we went and joined the rest of the family around my other Bro’s house for a BBQ and a few sherberts, perfect end to a perfect day! Keep it pinned.
