What amazing season. UK National champ, JNR World Cup series winner and now a World Champion!! Well done Team Madison Saracen.

But Champery. What an epic race. Time for Manon to shine.
We rocked up at 3:30am and had a few hours kip in the Transporter, all four of us. A little too cosy for my liking...

We hooked up with Andy at around 7:30 at the race rig for a brew and to be informed we’d missed all the sunshine – 3 days in fact. Race day looked overcast but the track was still running dry. A couple of runs for Manon in the morning saw her choosing High Rollers for her race run.

Riding up on the chair lift the clouds were really rolling in and a few spots of rain appeared as Andy setup the Ariel on the rollers for Manon. Minutes later as Manon arrived and the heavens opened! Race plan changed. Back to wet tyres. Nerves were high, you could feel the tension.

Off to the start. Bid farewell. This was her moment. Go!

Andy and I walked back up to the lift to get back down in constant radio contact and then nothing. Battery? Signal? It felt like an eternity walking to the lift in silence and then suddenly Jack G comes through on the radio “ Gentlemen, we have a new World Champion.” Epic.

So this ends an amazing week for Saracen, first at Eurobike and now firmly on the world map. Amazing.

Once again, big congrats out to Manon. You’ve made us proud.

Cheers
Wildman.
