So, quite a bit has happened since I broke my Radius; I’ve watched the BDS at Moelfre, a local PORC race, and I even went as far as South Africa to see the World Cup.
I cut my cast off after a few days as it inevitably started to pong after a few spin sessions. After being off the bike for 2 weeks I had to get riding again so I rode Manons Arial around the pits in SA and walked the course enough times to know it almost as well as if I rode it.
The day I got back from SA Dad reminded me we had a charity ride the next day. It was only 25 miles, I could hold the bars with my doubled up wrist supports pretty well and it had been over 3 weeks since the fall so we went for it.
A couple of days after that I tried riding my hardtail at the pump track which was a bit of a push as I couldn’t jump anything but I could go pretty fast. I was pretty happy with how thing were going and had my 4 week x-ray that Friday coming.
The specialist at the hospital said that it was healing really fast and looked good. He explained that I could begin to use it for everyday tasks again but to be careful for 4-6 weeks as it wouldn’t be healed very strongly...so the Pearce DH race in Wales isn’t really an everyday occurrence but racing is usually an every weekend task so I left from the hospital with good friend Jack Chapman for the race.
I was riding slowly on the greasy ground of Bringewood but it was amazing to be riding my month deprived Saracen Myst. To top it off I got my new jump/4X bike that weekend! I came 9th in the end which I was happy with, I couldn’t expect anything but a good weekends riding back anyway.
So we’re up to the weekend just gone and I went to do a local DH race to me in Crowborough. Alva’s race venue called, “the Bull Track,” has been around for a few years now and he has hosted many races in his time. Again there was a good crowd of people all enjoying themselves including myself again on my DH bike.
I’ve got a PORC race this weekend coming and then its 3 weeks away for the BDS in Glen Coe then the next 2 world cups in Fort William and Leogang; I am buzzing for it!
