Williamson and Walker crash out at Les Gets
The Madison Saracen Factory Team faced a tough weekend of racing at Les Gets, with both Matt Walker and Greg Williamson falling victim early in the schedule of the fifth round of the World Cup series.
For Williamson, a crash in practice and a dislocated shoulder ended his storming start to the season.
His only consolation is that there is now a seven-week break until the World Championships, and an eight-week break until World Cup competition resumes, so plenty of time to recover.
Walker lost the front wheel in qualifying and without protected status, did not progress into the semi-finals.
Racing resumes on August 28-31with the World Championships in Vallnord, with the final two rounds of the World Cup series following after.
