FAQ
-
Q: What should I wear for mountain biking?
A: Wear MTB-specific clothing such as shorts or trousers, a breathable jersey, gloves, and weather-appropriate layers. MTB clothing is designed for durability, movement, and comfort on rough terrain, and typically has a relaxed fit for protective gear like knee pads.Q: Is cycling clothing worth it?
A: Yes. MTB-specific cycling clothing like the Madison range improves comfort, durability, and mobility compared to everyday clothing. It is designed to withstand abrasion, manage sweat, and perform better in off-road conditions.Q: Are Madison cycling clothes good?
A: Yes. Madison MTB clothing is designed for trail and off-road riding, with durable fabrics, stretch for movement, and relaxed fits for comfort and protection. It is built for real UK mountain biking conditions rather than purely road or race use.Q: What’s the difference between MTB and road cycling clothing?
A: MTB clothing is designed for durability, movement, and protection in off-road conditions, usually with a looser fit. Road cycling clothing prioritises aerodynamics and a tight, performance fit to reduce drag at speed.Q: Do I need MTB-specific clothing?
A: You don’t strictly need MTB clothing, but clothing like the Madison range significantly improves comfort, durability, and performance on trails. It is designed to handle abrasion, weather, and movement better than standard sportswear.
