Matt Walker took second in a stacked field at round two of the 2023 British downhill series, as the build-up to the world cup season continues.
Walker’s run saw him record a 4:29.714 which beat all but Laurie Greenland in a top-10 that resembled a world cup field more than a national series event.
Teammate Greg Williamson suffered a small crash just before the halfway mark of the track, frustrating his effort to lay down a competitive time, and he finished 25th with the clock stopping at 4:42.180.
Madison Saracen Development Team rider George Madley took a close second in the youth men’s event, less than a second off the win. Notably Madley’s time of 4:44.028 would have placed him top-30 in the elite men’s competition.
Liv Taylor made her return from injury with fourth place in the youth women’s competition.
The Madison Saracen Factory Race Team now make their final preparations for round one of the 2023 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, which starts on June 9 in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
