Aston Hill Bike Park Update: Big Progress, Big Berms and First Hits
Trail building at Aston Hill Bike Park is progressing well. Saracen's trail crew have completed major sections of the new top-to-bottom trail, work continues on the new trail, and reopening is getting closer.
Things may have fallen a little quiet over at Aston Hill Bike Park since we were last there but we are pleased to report that there is plenty of progress and we are getting closer to welcoming riders back. John, Ian and the team have been incredibly busy working on a massive new trail to open the park with. We popped down with Jono to find out what has been going on…
New Trail Construction at Aston Hill Bike Park
The build crew have been busy creating a brand-new top-to-bottom trail that will be ready for opening day. It's shaping up to be something pretty special.
We've had a sneak peek of the latest sections and it's safe to say there are smiles all round. Expect huge rollers, flowing berms and even a few features that'll have you wondering if you're really still at Aston Hill Bike Park. It's fast, fun and unlike anything the hill has seen before.
Latest Aston Hill Rebuild Progress
Building a track like this on a hill like Aston is no easy task. It requires heavy machinery and long hours but the small team have been in a massive shift to get the track to where it is today. A lot of blood, sweat and (probably) tears are going to give riders something to get truly excited about.
By now, this new main trail that takes in sections of the old 4X is nearing completion and there are plans to get a new natural track built before launch too, so watch this space…
The new access road is almost complete, making it much easier to get machinery and materials where they're needed. That might not sound exciting, but it's been a game changer for speeding up the rebuild.

First Hits
The exciting part? We managed to squeeze in a bit of testing.
Not only did we get a full track walk (as well as a couple of little sneak peaks), the guys let Jono hit a couple of jumps on his Ariel 60. It might only have been a little taster of the track but the smiles on Jono’s face says it all. This track is SICK!!
Jono rode a tiny section but even in poor conditions, it was running so smooth. We cannot wait to see what the finished article looks like and even more so, we cannot wait to hit that massive swooping left-hander!
Important Stuff
It’s worth remembering that Aston Hill is still closed to the public so please do not attempt to ride any of these tracks. Not only do you risk damaging them and delaying the opening of the park but it could have wider implications for the long-term future of Aston Hill.
We are super proud to be supporting the return of Aston Hill alongside the Shimano Trail Born fund and are stoked for when it opens.
You can help too!
If you would like to support Aston Hill, there is a crowdfunding campaign which you can donate to. All money donated will help the rebuild and get Aston Hill open more quickly and better than ever.

Frequently Asked Questions
When will Aston Hill Bike Park reopen?
The team is making excellent progress, but an official reopening date hasn't been announced yet. We'll continue sharing updates as work progresses.
What new trails are being built at Aston Hill?
A brand-new top-to-bottom trail is being built alongside another natural, hand dug track for opening with another seven or eight planned over the next few years.
Why is Aston Hill still closed?
The trails need time to be completed and settle before they're ready to ride. Opening too early could damage the fresh trail surfaces and delay reopening.
Can I ride Aston Hill before it officially opens?
No. Please stay off the trails until the park officially reopens. Avoiding early riding helps protect the new trail work and gets everyone riding sooner.
How can I support the Aston Hill rebuild?
You can support the project by donating to the Aston Hill fundraiser which can be found here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/rebuild-aston-hill-bike-park-help-us-finish-the-trails
