Williamson repeats with seventh in Poland

Greg Williamson continued some of his career-best form as he rode to seventh-place at round two of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Poland for the Madison Saracen Factory Team.

Backing up his seventh-place at round one on home soil in Fort William, Greg showed resilience and outright pace to deliver on an all-new track in Poland.

Comfortably through qualifying in 14th, Greg stepped up his performance in the semi final, completing the first third of his run in sixth place.

But a heavy crash around halfway down the track ended his charge. Thankfully, Greg's performance at round one granted him protected status, resulting in automatic progression to the finals.

When it counted most Williamson delivered a near-faultless run, finishing just 0.6-seconds off the podium.

Matt Walker's race weekend was challenging, as he also crashed out of the semi-finals. Meanwhile, George Madley finished 12th in the junior race, overcoming some very challenging weather conditions.

The ride puts Greg tenth in the overall standings after two races of the seven round series.

Round three, takes place in Leogang, Austria on 9 June and you can watch all of the action live on DiscoveryPlus and Eurosport.
