World Cup opener in Lenzerheide

Madison Saracen Factory Race Team faced a challenging opening race to the 2023 World Cup series in Lenzerheide. 

Greg Williamson was suffering from illness and did not qualify for the semi-finals, finishing 91st and some 3.2 seconds away from the required 60th place. 

Matt Walker started his race weekend by making comfortably through qualification in 18th place, 5.355 seconds back from the fastest time. 

Matt started his semi-final run well, reaching the halfway point in 11th position, but an untimely puncture ended his challenge and - as a non-protected rider - he would not progress to the final. 

Round two of the series is just one week away, giving the team a chance to change their fortunes on the race track.
